Beauty and the Bee

This is a very special design and one of my favorites I’ve done…in silk and metal. Have you ever had a project that you have been working on and everything goes perfectly? Well, this one did for me and trust me it doesn’t always work that way.  I just got home from teaching this in Atlanta at In Stitches and we had a marvelous time! A fun story about this piece…  Right after I finished stitching this piece I posted to my facebook page and asked “what should I name this?” And I want you to know there are some very clever and creative people out there… But the winner was “Beauty and the Bee” I went back to see the post and couldn’t find it …so I wasn’t sure who it was that named it so cleverly…..until the Atlanta class!!!  During class someone asked me how I named it and I explained I wasn’t sure and then one the students popped up and said she did!!!  Thank you Beth Pansino!!! What a great surprise!!

After the class is was over Jeanene and I took a run out to an animal refuge – Noah’s Ark which is located about an hour out of Atlanta… We needed to see the BLT.  Bear,  Lion and Tiger that share a cage.  We where amazed by how many animals where there.. Wonderful place and if you ever get a chance- GO!

Pretty Flowers!!

Heading home from Creative Stitches in Dallas and wanted to share some thoughts.  In the last 5 years I have seen a new trend in the needlepoint world…dimension! We adding more and more height to our canvas which is making it more realistic, we are getting more creative by mixing in different media types to canvas. Satin, silk, and wired ribbon are giving us the most amazing flowers!!  I thought I would share a few that popped up at creative stitches!!
